World Strategic Forum 2025: Miami’s Expanding Role in Global Innovation and Leadership

With Nordic Leadership Perspectives from Tarja Stephens, Founder of Leaders of the Future

Hosted by International Economic Forum of the Americas. Tarja Stephens, founder of Leaders of the Future, took part in this event.

The World Strategic Forum (WSF) 2025, organized by the International Economic Forum of the Americas, has become one of the most influential gatherings for policymakers, business leaders, and global thinkers shaping the future of the world economy. Its 14th edition, held at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel in Miami, marked a significant moment for a city rapidly asserting itself as a rising node of innovation, diplomacy, and strategic economic influence.

Under the theme “Driving Prosperity Through Innovation,” the 2025 Forum introduced a reimagined two-day structure. The first day offered a public program with globally recognized speakers, sector leaders, and accredited media. The second day moved into an invitation-only format, private roundtables, strategic sessions, and high-level discussions designed to cultivate partnerships, spark collaboration, and support candid exchange.

This year’s agenda reflected the scale of transformation underway across sectors. Key themes included geopolitics, trade dynamics, global finance, infrastructure, critical resources and supply-chain resilience, and the future of energy. Notably, the Forum highlighted emerging technologies, AI and quantum computing, as strategic pressures now reshaping the global economy and the geopolitical balance.

As part of this landmark convening, Tarja Stephens, Founder of Leaders of the Future, participated in the Forum’s sessions and exchanges. Miami has become one of the fastest-growing innovation and capital hubs in the United States, and a strategic meeting point for global dialogue on technology, investment, and leadership.

One of the Forum’s most compelling discussions centered on the emerging quantum era, exploring how quantum research, commercialization, national security, and policy are rapidly becoming strategic economic priorities. Miami’s role in this evolution, connecting academia, private sector innovation, and government interest, reflects its growing importance in global technology ecosystems.

Throughout the two-day program, Tarja engaged with visionary leaders shaping the future of work, global competitiveness, and technological acceleration. She brought forward a Nordic perspective rooted in trust-based leadership, digital literacy, and long-term societal resilience, values increasingly relevant in a world navigating volatility and exponential change.

As Miami continues its ascent as one of the world’s most dynamic innovation ecosystems, the World Strategic Forum reaffirmed a central truth: leadership in the next decade requires global awareness, cross-sector collaboration, and the ability to understand technological transformation as a geopolitical force.

Leaders of the Future is proud to contribute to this ongoing global dialogue, and honored to see its founder participate in conversations that define the future direction of economies, industries, and societies.
