In August, we were honored that our founder, Tarja Stephens, served as a facilitator at the Miami AI Club’s AI in Education Roundtable, led by the founders Nima Schei and Sara Zargaran. The gathering brought together educators, technologists, students, and community leaders to explore how human-centric AI can be meaningfully integrated into classrooms.
Hosted at the Miami Dade College AI Center in August, the roundtable centered on one shared goal: advancing inclusive, cross-sector collaboration to shape responsible AI adoption in education.
With Miami-Dade County Public Schools serving more than 330,000 students, the largest K-12 district in Florida and the third-largest in the U.S., this dialogue explored both challenges and opportunities for shaping the future of learning.
It was inspiring to see the collective leadership wisdom in the room and the practical steps leaders identified:
- Personalized student support powered by AI tools.
- Teacher onboarding and training as a foundation for responsible AI adoption.
- Transparency and ethics as non-negotiables in classroom use.
“It was inspiring to witness educators, technologists, students, and community leaders come together with such wisdom sharing insights and knowledge,” said Tarja Stephens. “What stood out most was the collective commitment to ensure AI supports, not replaces, the human connection at the heart of learning.”
